A large crowd attended the Ashley ward funeral service for Mrs Emily Amelia Gerber 85 widow of Louis Gerber who died January 4 at her daughter's home following a stroke. Bishop Alma Preece presided with Elias Winn and others speaking of her pioneering life and faithful service in the Ashley valley. Burial was in Maeser cemetery with the ward choir providing music.

Accident causes rib fracture from fork handle mishap
Davis ward resident Mr Slaugh related a freak accident at home ten days earlier. While wrapping twine on a broken fork handle he pulled tightly, the top of the handle swung against his body, breaking a rib on his left side. The blow worsened by striking the buckle on his overall strap and a button on his shirt pocket.
