Emily Gerber 85 Funeral in Ashley Ward Chapel

A large crowd attended the Ashley ward funeral service for Mrs Emily Amelia Gerber 85 widow of Louis Gerber who died January 4 at her daughter's home following a stroke. Bishop Alma Preece presided with Elias Winn and others speaking of her pioneering life and faithful service in the Ashley valley. Burial was in Maeser cemetery with the ward choir providing music.

Narrow escape as hot water pipe bursts after man crawls out

Soebel W S Henderson narrowly escaped scalding Wednesday morning after finishing work under a floor space too small for his body. He crawled out minutes before a hot water pipe burst, flooding the area with scalding water and steam.

Keith Ross Fined for Assault and Battery

Keith Ross faced four complaints of assault and battery. At a hearing before Justice Charles S Carter on Wednesday he pleaded guilty. On Thursday Carter imposed a $50 fine or 30 days in county jail, and Ross was turned over to Marshal Richardson and jailed.

Utah High School Bus Crash Near Vernal in Twist Canyon

A U H S bus with about 20 students and 3 passengers collided with a car driven by S S Etheldon, a sales representative, at a sharp turn in Twist Canyon west of Vernal on Monday evening. No injuries occurred. estimated damages were $150 to the bus and $150 to the car.

Funeral Services Held for Christella Ainge of Jensen

Christella Ainge a 14 year old Jensen resident died January 7 1933 after a diphtheria and pneumonia illness Her mother Ame Ha Ainge and brothers Lenon Arthur Howard Horace along with sisters Lulu Dudley Phoebe Lydia and Amy survive She was born November 22 1918 in Jensen Interment followed at Jensen Cemetery with gravesite dedication by Bishop Fred Wall Four funeral services were held at the Jensen ward home near the school.

Judging Teams Earn Orden Honors At Livestock Show

About 49 teams from Idaho Colorado and Utah competed in livestock and field crop judging at the Orden livestock show. The U E B livestock team led by Kenneth Thomas William Murray and Shirley Smith placed third overall with 2800 points. Utah schools dominated with Sail Hornets South Cache Valley Spanish Fork and Vernal among top finishers. William Murray ranked fifth in individual judging across all teams.

Six bids were opened at the state capital for the Jensen Drive bridge over the Green River. Estimated cost is 12006 dollars funded by emergency relief. completion is required by July 1. Accident causes rib fracture from fork handle mishap

Davis ward resident Mr Slaugh related a freak accident at home ten days earlier. While wrapping twine on a broken fork handle he pulled tightly, the top of the handle swung against his body, breaking a rib on his left side. The blow worsened by striking the buckle on his overall strap and a button on his shirt pocket.
