Inspector George Lyman Killed in Uintah Railway Crash
Uintah railway inspector George Lyman died Thursday after a freight train derailment or runaway on the Uintah line near Atchee. Engineer Griffin was badly burned and taken to Grand Junction. Lyman, about 37, had suffered prior accidents and left a wife and two children. Burial plans were unclear as officials awaited further details.

Commissioners hold their first meeting Tuesday

E J Young Sr was injured when a Jersey cow trod on the tongue and a wheel passed over his head near Fred Bingham's place. He was carried to town for medical care and suffered a broken shoulder blade and head lacerations. A wagon load of hay and other items were scattered. two coats and a bale were later stolen from the scene.
