Monday night a newly completed Lapoint family home burned to ashes while Mr and Mrs Albert Mott of Lapstint were away at a party. Two daughters inside tried to save a trunk but were driven out by heat. only two blankets and a gas lamp saved. The fire likely started from rooftop heat. no insurance covered the loss.

Price Utah December 26 more than 4 000 000 of the 10 000 000 pounds of alfalfa seed from the Uintah Basin has been shipped. Community Christmas Tree Festival Draws Large Crowd

A meeting of the Ouray Valley Irrigation directors in Vernal discussed routine matters and set the annual meeting for the 18th. The company is advancing canal improvements with lumber hauled from Lee Sawmill for drops to prevent soil washes on steep descents. Water is taken from the White River in connection with the Whiterocks Canal near Tridel, irrigating about 1,? acres in the Ouray valley. Several enhancements are planned to improve the system and supply better irrigation once completed.
