Funeral Services For Stephen Atwood At Davis
Davis Funeral Home held funeral services for Stephen Wallace Atwood, 47, at 2 pm with Bishop Wallace Slaugh presiding. Death Takes Prominent Mytons Mason Monday
Keney N Funk, 72, former operator of the Mytorhitel and other hotels in Utah, died at home in Myton Monday evening after a short illness of two heart ailments. A chef since age eight, he ran the Myton hotel for nearly two years before retirement. Previously he operated the Unlors hotel in Ephraim and other Utah and Colorado hotels. For 19 years he was tyler for Basin lodge No. 20, P&AM, with near perfect meeting attendance.

National Lottery March 17 Will Select Men for Draft
The third national selective service lottery will be held in Washington on March 7 to determine order numbers for registrants who enrolled this month. Approximately eight to nine thousand capsules will be drawn in the first wartime lottery since 1818 and the third since 1940 enactment. Registrants who enrolled February 18 will not have their numbers integrated into old master lists and are not expected to be inducted soon. the process requires questionnaires before raising the registrants.

The Washington board approved the Chipeta Lake project of White Rocks Irrigation Co. for up to 50,000 dollars, 25,000 of which refi nances existing obligations and the rest funds completion. The plan would impound about 2100 acre feet for late summer irrigation, with detailed soil and farm security study to begin March 1. Elderly Couple Escape Injury After Car Lands in Drain Gulch
An elderly couple, David Richards and his wife, narrowly escaped harm when their 192 Dodge sedan left US 40 and plunged into a drainage gulch three miles south of town while en route to church. The collision with a Mickelson tank truck driven by Earl Ponstermaker clipped guard rails, sending the car over a steep embankment into shallow water. Sheriff H M Snyder and Deputy Caldwell arrived. the couple were uninjured but shaken, with Mrs Richards walking home after the incident.
