Jensen Men to Help Secure Buck Pasture
At a Jensen meeting called by the Board of County Commissioners misunderstandings over the Buck Pasture reservoir and its effects on Jensen Water users were cleared up. A committee of Jensen water users will meet Ashley Reservoir Co in Vernal Monday at 1 pm to protect Jensen waters while supporting county reservoir development. Local officials urged reservoirs to aid Uintah County farming and noted Ashley Valley lags in development.

Fred Akhurst Funeral Rites Held Saturday
Fred Wick Akhurst prominent stockman and Yancher died Thursday February 11 at his family home. Funeral services were held Saturday at 1 pm in the Kingsbury Congregational Church with Rev. Wilard Spence officiating. A ladies quintet sang and pallbearers listed. Interment at Fairview cemetery under Swain Funeral Home direction. Akhurst born 1854 in England. immigrated to Canada then the United States and became a stockraiser and rancher in Colorado. He was survived by widow Annette Steinmetz Akhurst.

Skidding to Be Repeated Saturday for Scout Home

Road resurfacing contract awarded on highway 50 west of Green River
North Western Engineering Company of Rapid City South Dakota announced last week that it won the contract for rock asphalting eight miles of road west of Green River on U S 50. The accepted bid is 73 450. Completion will leave only three miles unsurfaced. The estimated cost of the project is 12 241.65 per mile.

Funeral Rites for Elisha Campbell Held Wednesday
Funeral services for Elisha Campbell were held Wednesday at noon in the Vernal Second Ward chapel with Bishop John Hall presiding. Campbell, 61, longtime Vernal contractor, died after a heart condition. Interment followed at Vernal Memorial Park. Surviving are two children, several grandchildren, and numerous relatives.

Duchesne High sent a large delegation to Uintah at the UHB for two junior varsity games and a later match. Uintah outscored Duchesne in both first and second team contests by 30 points, the scores 30-0 and 30-? with Uintah dominant.
