Postmaster E J Young reports Vernal post office receipts rose in 1925 over 1924. For the quarter ending December 31 1925 receipts were 3 95677 versus 363343 in 1924, up 12 percent. Yearly receipts totaled 12 08% 37 compared with 21 448 41 in 1924, an 86 percent rise.

Pioneer Mother Aurtila Hatch Lauded in Vernal Funeral
Funeral services for 73 year old Aurtila Hatch were held in the First ward chapel with Bishop Calder directing. Speakers James Shaking and Ernest Eaton praised her pioneer life in the Uintah Basin and relief work. Interment at Vernal cemetery followed a wreath filled service. she is survived by several children and siblings.

Impressive Services Held for Little Eric in Vernal
Funeral services were held January 24 at the home of Eric Cramer for his son Eric Keith. Bishop Hyrum Calder led prayers with speakers James M Shaffer and President Wallace Calder. The family was praised for their exemplary lives as the community mourned. Musin and hymns were led by Mrs J H Prows and Mrs Wallace Calder. The casket was covered with flowers. pallbearers were four young friends. Interment followed at Vernal cemetery with Sander dedicating the grave. Survived by parents two brothers and one sister Orin Darwin and Marjorie.
