Sportsmen's Paradise Seen Offshoot Of Flaming Gorge Reservoir Project

The Flaming Gorge reservoir will back up the Green River forming a clearwater lake that rises from barren land. It will feed clear water down the canyon to Lodore and through the park, creating a sporting haven for deer, ducks, geese, and native trout fishing. Officials predict a transformation from a last frontier to a popular public recreation area within about 20 years, with the Green River’s big fish stocking the new lake.
