Federal Funds To be Sought For Hospital
Uintah county officials plan to seek federal funds via a PWA project to build a new county hospital with about 15 beds and fireproof construction. Construction could begin next spring using local labor and materials, with future wings possible. A local $3.00 per capita match will fund the project. a hospital committee led by J R Douglass will drive the effort and a hospital board will supervise construction and operation. The slogan: A County Hospital Ready for Use by Next Summer.

A funeral service was held in Vernal for W. H. Coltharp of Grand Junction Colorado who died suddenly at his home after breakfast. Born March 28 1880 in Rangely Colorado Coltharp lived in Mangely and Meeker then studied at All Hallows College Salt Lake City.

The Twists Canyon project on U S 6 4 west of Vernal earned national acclaim at the Miami Florida highway convention as the most scenic highway construction of the year.
