Will Go To Eagle Colorado To Help Identify Thief
G. R. Dick Smith of Tridell received a letter from Sheriff W. M. Wilson of Eagle Colorado to come to Colorado at the January term of district court to identify J. W. Cash alias G. W. Wilson the saddle thief arrested at Fort Duchesne August 28 by Sheriff L. Richardson after information from Joe Luck of the Red Front Garage. Cash was in town in June selling a saddle at a bargain and discussed barber trade causing Smith to be called to identify him.

Uintah Telephone Co Pays Second Dividend for Year
The Uintah Telephone company mailed checks for a five percent second dividend to stockholders, expected to arrive by Christmas. A prior three percent dividend was paid last March. Busy Taking The Agricultural Census In Ashley Valley

Well Known Lapoint Resident Dies After Months of Suffering
John Long Jr. dies at his daughter Annie Davis’s home after a long illness described as general debility. He was born July 4 1860 and left seven children including Guy Long and Anna Davis. Burial followed a LDS church funeral in Vernal with Bishop Taylor presiding and a quartet singing.

Bertha T Curtis wife of Charles C Curtis died in Payson born February 20 1862. She lived in LaPoint since 1915 and is survived by her husband and two sons Ed of Provo Utah and Arthur. Vernal Gun Club proposes an 1.5 million acre game refuge in Ashley National Forest from Little Mountain to the Colorado Line. The 30 by 8 mile area would protect deer and other game with no shooting and include rewards up to 100 dollars for illegal deer killings and 59 dollars for protected pheasants and partridges.
