Weather Speeds Road Work in Duchesne County
Mild winter weather accelerates fall road work in Duchesne County where gravel spreading begins on a 359 mile section of Utah State Highway 22 from Mt Home Junction to Mt Home. Oiling is delayed until spring. Nelson Dros Construction Co completed grading and fencing on this phase, begun July 6 for 360,301 dollars to improve three roads totaling 10.782 miles. the other segments run from Bluebell to Altamont on U- and total 4194 miles.

Funeral services for Joseph Collier 76 a Naples resident were held in the Naples Ward chapel following a stroke Born January 24 1883 in Provo he was a former bishop and long time Davis Ward and Naples Ward leader The service featured the Naples chorus and speakers Archie Johnson LaVell Manwaring with pallbearers including Wayne Collier and Dan Collier. He is survived by Myrtle Gardiner his wife two daughters six grandchildren five brothers and three sisters. Attending out of town included Mae Carpenter and Theodore Collier of Murray.

Mr Wilson reports on the Bluebell to Altamont strip and Altonah to Altamont projects. Drainage and trading work on Bluebell line are about 75 percent complete while fencing stands at about zero. A concrete box will carry water across the road on Altonah to Altamont, due in the first half of December, with no rolling work planned this fall.

Union group earns UNESCO praise for Tuvolin aid
Members of the Union gh Shoat Chapter of the Tuture TLomonoakery of America received a UNESCO citation for organizing a successful fund drive at Mel lowcentine to support a library project. Aileen Frickgan of the State Department praised the effort, noting the contribution helped fund a library and that the girls intend to treasure their part in the cause. Sixty dollars was raised through a Trick or Treat themed event prior to Halloween, with the local chapter officers named as Arlene Rockwood president and others in leadership roles.

Funeral service held for 20 year old Sherlene Harvey in Tridell
In Tridell Ward chapel on December 2 at 1pm a funeral for Miss Sherlene Harvey 20 who died at Holy Cross Hospital Salt Lake from plastia anemia was conducted by Rae H W Goodrich of the Tridell bishopric. Loren Ross offered invocation. Speakers included Dick Bigler LeRoy Morill and Bishop Loren McKee. Toni Goodrich played prelude and postlude and Topi Goodrich played an organ solo Oh My Father. The girls chorus sang.
