New Utah Mineral Alunite Near Marysvale Promises Potash Source
Federal geologists report a newly discovered alunite deposit near Marysvale Utah that shows promise as a source of potash material for western orchards. The Marysvale deposit, described in a Geological Survey advance chapter, has not yet yielded enough ore to supply the nation but sits favorably for future development and potential competition with foreign potash. An Uintah Development Company office is rumored to be opened in the old Commercial Club Building.

Maeser Church Notes and Alumstone Mineral Study
Afternoon sessions discuss lessons by President Don Calton and others, with a funeral for Sadie Timothy and music by the Maeser choir. Separately, a mineral study analyzes alunite from Marysvale near the Tushar Range, detailing composition, distribution, vein structure, and estimated potash content.
Potash Potential Seen In Alunite Deposits In Marys Gale
The Marys gale rock deposit could yield about 306000 tons of rock per 100 feet depth with 10 feet width and 10 percent recoverable potash, suggesting a practical process to reduce alunite for potash and possibly aluminum. This discovery could stimulate searches and bolster domestic potash production to meet national needs.
