Rotary Club Vernal Organizes As Local Businessmen

Maijel Aregon of Vernal 50 accused of child molesting faces trial early next year. He was arrested after an alleged incident involving a local five year old girl, who was medically examined and released. Aregon, from Alamosa New Mexico, was seized November 2 by troopers and local police. The Rotary Club of Vernal forms with Salt Lake City backing, aiming to join Rotary International in about 10,000 communities. Fire Damages Garage in City Fire prevents spread to homes

A Friday fire caused about 2000 dollars in damage to a double garage at Third South and Second West owned by Deward and Alson Shiner. Neighbor Dennis Dilbey alerted the fire department, which kept the flames from reaching the Shiner residences as the structures were unoccupied. Most damage was to the roofs.
