Vernal City Sets Mill Levy Named New Councilman

Vernal City Council on Wednesday night kept the 1058 mill levy at 41.50, down 75 from earlier estimates but 275 above the 1057 figure. Rodney D. Rogs of Moss Construction Co was confirmed to fill the unexpired term of Don Richardson, effective August 1, with the term ending in November 1959. The levy rise stemmed from sewer plant financing approved by voters, allowing up to three mills for bond interest and sinking funds. The council maintained the levy for other purposes.

Over six thousand tons of phosphate ore will depart from the Ntum phries property near Brush Creek to Leefe for processing mill tests by San Francisco Chemical Company. Vernal Baby Nearly Drowns After Pond Accident

A one year old Vernal boy escaped death when he fell into a foot deep pond at his maternal grandparents home in Naples.
