Kiwanis Meeting Features Utah Tax Talk and Film
Last week's Kiwanis gathering led by Dr J B W Marrs heard Stanley Stevens discuss Utah tax structure and burden shifts over eight years, noting total state taxes near 640 million and a six year total of 713 million paid. He warned constitutional changes could raise taxes this year and praised legislative gains in state funds control. A film of Utah's 1960s championship game between Utah Utes and Kentucky was screened with proceeds aiding Kiwanis Scout programs, and plans for a Blackface show and auction were announced for May or June. The next Kiwanis meeting is Thursday the 17th at the Gateway Cafe at 7:30.
