Governor Waite issues a proclamation banning Utah sheep entering Colorado citing scab disease. About 150000 Utah sheep would be barred while armed groups and cattlemen prepare to resist, with reports of 4000 sheep approaching Grand Mesa and other fronts across the state.
Washington reports no open conflict with Cheyennes and Apaches near Fort Reno Oklahoma only a personal dispute between a few Indians and cattlemen. Fort Reno agent Woopson says no further trouble and Indians are farming and peaceful. Adjutant General Martin cautions against exaggerated El Reno outbreak dispatches from Chicago with April 6 date.
