Shirley Wade Williamson of Vernal can claim the greatest number of living grandparents in Utah. R L Woodward of Salt Lake former Vernal resident attended funeral services for Charles Schanno at Maeser last week. Woodward once served as Maeser school principal and later Vernal schools head, arriving in Vernal in the early 1900s as an early Uintah County Uintah Press subscriber.

Jensen Junior High Students Go to Salt Lake

Seventeen Jensen junior high students travel from Vernal to Salt Lake City for a four day educational trip. Accompanied by Mrs Myrtle Dudley Peterson, they will visit landmarks such as the state capitol prison zoo and University of Utah with police escorts provided in Salt Lake City. Transportation is by chartered bus and car services.

A V Lewis of Vernal purchased a one half stake in Uintah Gas Company last week. J F Douglas manager also bought a half interest, putting Uintah Gas under local ownership. The two owners left Monday for a business trip through Texas and Oklahoma.

Denver to Salt Lake City Thru Bus Service Approved

Public Utilities commission authorizes Denver Motorway to acquire Carver line certificates and run three 20 passenger busses on a Denver to Salt Lake City route with schedules aiming to depart Salt Lake City at 4 30 pm and reach Denver by 10 30 am, starting about May 1 with connections for thru passengers. The Motorway gains interstate and intrastate permits but cannot operate local express between Idaho Springs and Craig.
