Farmers Seek Road To Link Vernal Utah
McKinnon area ranchers and farmers formed the Henrys Fork farm bureau Friday night to back a Utah state road into Birch Creek canyon from the Wyoming Utah line to Ashley National Forest. They want cooperation among Wyoming Utah agencies and the forest service to create a scenic loop along the north slope of the Uinta mountains linking Manila Sheep Creek canyon Palisade park and local areas with Henrys Fork valley. A survey of valley ranches was to follow to gauge potential dude ranches and regional advertising plans. The group urged Salt Lake City business and tourist interests to help promote development to boost wholesale Utah homes in nearby Wyoming and Utah communities.

Joseph A McKee Celebrates 80th Birthday at Galt Lake Home
Joseph A McKee, active in eastern Utah church and civic affairs, was honored with an all day open house at his Galt Lake home for his eightieth birthday. A former Uintah County commissioner, canal president and ward bishop, he lived in Vernal and South Jordan before moving to Salt Lake City. He was born in Spanish Fork in 1858, married Laura Orsle Bec, and leaves five children, 23 grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
