Uintah School District superintendent Max G Abbott resigns after four years to take a two year appointment at the University of Chicago with a PhD path and a yearly stipend. He will leave the post effective end of the school year July 1. The board will seek a new superintendent with applications due by April 18 and an appointment by May 13.

High School Hosts Over 200 Visitors for Parents Day
Spring Parents Day at Uintah High School drew over 200 parents for a midweek event. Principal G Rex outlined graduation requirements while counselor Aaron Hansen described new tailored course planning. Uintah Service Assn Sends Final Uintah News Letter to Servicemen
The Uintah Service Association mailed the 86th and final Uintah Newsletter to about 175 Uintah County service members. The six page issue shared local and global news, fellow letters from the troops, promotions, marriages, and family additions, plus current and new addresses and rosters. The newsletter began in 1951 as a Korean War project, led by the Americanism Committee under Mrs. Marguerite Colson, and has aided reunions and morale for over seven years.
