Unprovoked assault ends in murder in Defiance

Anselm Schneider, a Defiance resident, was killed by four young men after a late night incident at the Crosby House in Defiance. The four suspects, Flemming, Lantz, Otis, and Jeff, were arrested and charged with second degree murder as the town faced intense outrage and possible lynching threats.

St Louis Melodrama of a Watch Theft at a Shop
