Fire Rages Through Snyder Sons Factory at Columbia City
About six o’clock last evening fire was discovered in the engine room of Snyder Son’s furniture factory. The flames were fought with water and the surrounding buildings saved. The crowd removed the most valuable machinery, while the building and part of the machinery burned. Loss estimated at $2000. Fire believed incendiary but no clue to the culprit.

Line-Repairer Heroically Rescues Comrade From Death
Frank Allen and Thomas Fitzpatrick, Long Island Telephone linemen, climbed an eighty foot pole to fix disturbed wires on Washington and York streets in Brooklyn. Allen collapsed while clinging to a cross arm. Fitzpatrick quickly climbed, steadied him, belayed with a rope, and descended with Allen to safety.
