Gifts of Curtains From Ladies Temperance League

Mrs Hayes will receive a pair of ivory silk curtains embroidered with sunflowers and pomegranates from the Ladies Temperance League of Ottawa Illinois. The ivory silk is cross banded with brown plush and lined with pale blue silk. The curtains are valued at $1200 and destined for her Fremont house.

The temperance initiative produced a life size portrait by Huntington of Mrs Hayes. It will be shown in Lincoln Hall, Washington on the 6th and 7th with 2000 invited leaders and speeches by Mrs Foster Miss Willard and others.
