Notice to Teachers Exams Scheduled On Saturdays

Notice to teachers states that examinations will be held on the last Saturday of each month with additional exams on the second Saturday of March April September October and November. A special meeting for algebra physiology US history and other branches will occur on the Friday before the last Saturday of August. Supreme Court set to rule on Scott law in June

The constitutionality of the Scott law was argued before the Supreme Court Tuesday and Wednesday. Leading liquor defense counsels were Judge Burk of Cleveland and Kitteridge of Cincinnati, while Judge Ran ney of Cleveland and Judge West aided the law side. The Cleveland Leader notes Judge West spoke eloquently and drew rapt attention as the chamber stayed quiet throughout his address.

Burglary Ring Terrorizes Upper Sandusky Homes

A Saturday dispatch reports a burglary wave in Upper Sandusky with thefts from George Alscras and Mrs. Venstein. Items stolen include clothing cash and a horse later recovered. several residences suffered entries but few valuables taken. About a dozen suspects have been detained though link to the crimes remains unproven.

Devon steers captivate Canastota visitor in Syracuse

Daniel Twogood of Canastota arrived in town behind two bright red three year old Devon steers hitched to a side bar carriage. The team, trained by Twogood this spring, is gentle yet spirited and capable of five to six miles an hour. They are housed at the Dixon House and driven with a delicate overdrawn rein system. Seven Georgia women recently quilted in silence at a deaf and dumb institution without speaking a word.
