Virginia’s Old Stove Becomes Historic Capitol Relic
In Richmond the Virginia State Capitol houses the Old Stove once used to warm the House of Burgesses. Manufactured in England by Buzaglo in 1770 it heated Williamsburg and later Richmond legislative halls for over a century. It then stood in the Capitol rotunda as a sacred Virginia relic.

It lists common human foibles from freckles on the fairest to absent shirt buttons on the kindest, suggesting even the smartest scholars and wittiest authors err, while cosmic events prove imperfect harmony.

Honor and the Scottish bond of debt in old Highlands
A tale contrasts Highland honor with changing times as a loan and a receipt test the old code. A farmer Sandy argues a note can bind heirs after death, while Mr Stewart questions trust in paper versus neighborly word and fear of God. The story shows the shift from personal honor to written obligations.
