Tragic Troy rail wreck claims five lives

Evansville Ind Sept 1 Five killed and thirty injured when a Louisville Evansville and St Louis air line passenger coach derailed two miles east of Troy. Wheel flange failure caused the crash with a scalding cloud from ruptured steam. Deaths include Mrs John Ca Troy and Miss Bark Barbars Newieer among others. Rescue efforts followed as wreckage burned and fear grew that others perished trapped.
