Amsbaugh an agricultural instructor from Moline near Toledo has been appointed by the Ohio State University extension department as assistant county agent for Van Wert county for an indefinite period. Gamuel Marion Baxter, former police chief of this city, died at 323 South Shannon Sunday evening at 6 30. He would have turned 90 on May 26. Born in Allen county, he served as county sheriff and city police chief, later a Jackson township farmer, and was a long time member of First M church and Masonic lodge. Survived by widow, a brother Charles L Baxter of Lima, a sister D E Roselle of Hudson, Mich., two daughters Vestella Wigie of Santa Monica, Ida Baxter of Lima, and Mary Baxter of Lima with three great grandchildren. Three Antwerp Women Die In Fort Wayne Crash
Three Antwerp residents Mrs. John Swish 565 her daughter Vesta Swish 30 and foster daughter Dorothy Leslar 14 were killed when their car stalled in a rain soaked curve east of Fort Wayne after being struck by a second vehicle driven by Alvin Thomas 22 of Waterville.
