Mrs Pauline Hyatt Dies in Mishawaka

Mrs Pauline Hyatt formerly Pauline Young of this city died Wednesday at 3 a m at her Mishawaka home. She is survived by her husband Ora Hyatt a baby daughter Nancy Lee and her father William Young all of Mishawaka and by her brothers Lowell and Maurice Young. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p m at the home with burial in Mishawaka.

Man Sentenced After Gold Talk

John Crum of Pennsylvania was found guilty of obtaining money under false pretenses. He was fined 20 dollars and sentenced to 60 days in the Allen county jail by Justice Ora B. Crites after attempting to buy farms near Lima claiming valuable gold deposits on Missouri properties.

Boy Driver Flees After Crash of Autos Here

Police traced a crash at Washington and First streets to a theft of two cars and a missing Greenville boy. The sedan fled the scene while a coupe was found damaged. later the boy was found asleep in another car and returned to Greenville for juvenile handling.

Walter W. Jones Named Head of Van Wert Aged Aid

Walter W. Jones, administrator for Van Wert county, received permanent civil service appointment as head of the division of aid for the aged in the county. Appointed by H. J. Berrodin on the county board’s recommendation, Jones had served as clerk investigator and held a temporary post since May 1934. The division operates from the courthouse area with Miss Marcie Runyan as temporary office assistant.

Van Wert man to face judge over probation breach

Cleon Lee of Van Wert is to appear before Judge Sumner E. Walters on Saturday for a hearing on alleged violations of conditions of behavior imposed after pleading guilty to assault and battery. Lee faced a suspended workhouse sentence and fine, with strict good behavior requirements.
