Two Ridge youths Harold Lhamon 16 and Charlie Johnson 20 were seriously burned when a blow torch used for soldering ignited flaming gasoline. Lhamon suffered severe burns to the body and face while Johnson sustained facial burns. Both walked to a hospital after the incident around 9:30 p.m.

Dan Webb of this city pleaded guilty before Mayor John H Morrison to driving while intoxicated. He was fined 100 dollars plus costs and released after part of the fine was paid. The case goes to the State Bureau of Motor Vehicles for possible license revocation. Webb’s car struck vehicles owned by Q Earl Hoover of Matthews Ind and J A Burgmneur of Dubuque Ia while parked on Main Street near Cherry at about 1250 am. Patrolman William Hamerickhouse reported the wreck. Hoover’s car sustained about 50 dollar damage and the others suffered lesser damage.
