Andrew S Burt 93 a Van Wert County Civil War veteran died at Van Wert County Hospital after a week of serious illness. Born October 11 1842 in Coshocton County he moved to Van Wert at eight. Navy gunner on the gunboat Louisville served in the Mississippi Squadron fought at Memphis. Survived by daughter Florence Burt Evanston Ill a brother Harry Burt and sister Mrs B C Davis. Funeral Wednesday at 2 pm Lee Funeral Home burial Woodland Cemetery.

Navy flags were dipped to half mast in mourning for Col Henry Zatrobe Roosevelt assistant secretary of the Navy who died suddenly. A 17 gun salute will be fired at noon today and tomorrow. Funeral set for 11:30 a.m. tomorrow at St Johns Episcopal Church Arlington National Cemetery to honor Roosevelt with full military honors. President and Mrs Roosevelt return from Hyde Park for the service.
