William H Nye formerly of Van Wert was found guilty on counts six to eight in a U S district court for possession of counterfeit money to defraud. The jury split verdict, find him not guilty on other counts. judge denied a new trial and sentenced Nye to three years hard labor in the penitentiary. Marshal Wade jailed Nye. Bauman and Farry Nye await trial in related cases. Nye’s appeal window was set at twenty days.
