Burt Street sewer project approved by State Health Department
The State Department of Health approved a sanitary sewer plan to connect a West Main district to the main trunkline, with construction starting by May 1. The Burt St sewer will lay 1,600 feet of 18 inch tile and connect intercepting sewers, extending to the trunk line 300 feet south of First St and crossing toward Wall St and near the Pennsylvania stockyards. The project covers areas along Main Street to the city limits and includes Burt addition and adjacent sections south to Woodland.

Bert Heist of McClure a former Van Wert county resident died Thursday evening at 6 o clock at his home after a two day illness. A paralytic stroke early that day followed his wife’s prior death. He is survived by a son and daughter a sister Mrs Minnie Fling of North Washington street and two brothers G C Heist of South Walnut street and Alex Heist of Venedocia. Funeral arrangements were not announced.
