Untimely death shocks Van Buren community
Fred T. Drake a Van Buren citizen and drug store owner was found dead in his Marion home early Tuesday. Coroner investigation suggested suicide by cyanide after leaving letters to his wife citing persecution and innocence amid prior indictments. Funeral planned Friday at 2 PM. Drake remembered as a diligent county clerk with many friends.

By a large majority the Methodist Sunday school votes to hold its annual picnic on July 4 in the grove of W. F. Williamson in the town's north. L. L. Farnshell offers a five acre tract adjoining for baseball and horseshoes. The men's class boasts a ball game with Wim Kirk Patrick's class. Attendees are invited to bring dinner and stay all day.
