Grant County reports 46 students at Indiana University over the past year. The university as a whole shows enrollment above 4 200, a 500 percent rise in 25 years, marking a major growth era. Farmers Equity Exchange Stockholders Meet in June

The annual stockholders meeting of the Farmers Equity Exchange will be held at Riley and Duckwall hall on Friday evening, June 9 at 8 o'clock. All stockholders are urged to attend. Officers will be elected. Current officers are Isaac Comer, president, and Frank Schweikhardt, secretary.

Townships Set Dates for Diplomas in Grant County

About 132 pupils in Grant county township schools will receive diplomas this year enabling admission to high schools. Jefferson township leads with 54 graduates. Van Buren 47. other townships range from 10 to 34. Commencement dates vary from June 8 to June 22 across centers such as Marion high school auditorium Fairmount M E Church Roseburg Riley Hall Oak Chapel.

Mrs. Claude Dillon hosted a six o'clock dinner Thursday evening to honor Miss Maude Howard a June bride. Guests included Miss Cecil Palmer, Mrs. Jay Welch and Virginia, Mrs. Donald MacKenzie and David, Miss Gladys Kern, Miss Nellie Hodgson, Mrs. Burtney Ferguson and daughters, and Mrs. Daisy Toney.

George Dykes returned after working in western oil fields. he now works at Velie motor works in Marion. Samuel McVicker finished three weeks of rheumatism treatment and walks without a crutch. Robert Humes remains in poor health. Mather Huff shows slight improvement. Megster William Hilliard had tonsil procedure at Marion hospital. James Hewitt shopped in town. Mr. and Mrs. Enoch Burk drove to Montpelier to see a very ill father. Peter Murphy’s condition unclear. he sings often. Studebaker family in Hanfield plans burial at local graveyard. Local youths attended auto races at Converse. Corda Shinholt’s hand injury may lead to finger amputation. Mrs. J. M. Wuff visited Mrs. Martin Huffman at Warren. John R. Browne of Indianapolis visited his mother. Papa Blinn notes loaf of bread as very hard. Spiritualist camp meeting at Erheld Indiana set for July 15.

Samuel H Lee Dies at 72 in Van Buren Indiana

Samuel H Lee aged 72 years 11 months 23 days died June 7 1922 at his Van Buren Indiana home after months of illness from dropsy and heart dilation. He was born July 9 1849 in Harrison County Ohio and married Elizabeth Hicks Dec 16 1888. Survived by widow three children Eunice Marion Raymond a stepdaughter Bessie Fickenberry and several grandchildren and relatives. Funeral 2 p m Friday at the M E Church Rev E E Lutes officiating with interment in Van Buren cemetery.

Local Dollings Co. rep markets seven percent tax exempt securities

Wm M Kirkpatrick, local representative for the R L Dollings Co of Indianapolis, reports strong sales in four townships including Van Buren. He credits a good proposition behind a seven percent tax exempt investment favored by locals. Dollings funds projects only with their own partnership securities and maintains offices in Pittsburgh Philadelphia Columbus and Indianapolis.
