The Purdue Poultry cars visit Marion on Friday June 16 to celebrate Poultry Day with three cars on the New York Central sidetrack at the depot. Public hours are 9:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. Fire destroys J Stewart barn near Van Buren
A barn owned by John Stewart four miles southwest of Van Buren burned last Thursday night. The origin is unknown and the fire spread rapidly, preventing saving the contents. A mare inside was severely burned and euthanized after escaping the inferno. Loss estimated at about $800 with partial insurance.
