Albert Thomas, a 45 year old farmer, was jailed in Muncie to avoid a mob after being charged with murdering Geraldine Stout the eight year old daughter of Dr and Mrs C J Stout of Upland. The crime occurred near Thomas home as the Stouts rode home with George Strange. Coroner Rutledge filed the inquest and the grand jury will hear the case. Dr Stout is a nephew of the Saxon family of Hartford City.

Oil Well Near Mountpelier Forecasts Fifty Barrels a Day

Mountpelier May 20. The well on the Khaden farm near this city is reported on good grounds to yield fifty barrels of oil daily. Initial estimates had put production at twenty. If the 50 barrel rate holds, more wells are expected to follow in this field.

Youth 13 Dies of Rare Disease in Landersville

Herbert B. Pence, 13, died yesterday morning at 6 in his parents home in Landersville from malignant sarcoma a rare disease affecting the right shoulder. He had been ill eighteen months. Funeral held at 2 PM Thursday from the home, conducted by Rev. Wilburn. He is survived by his father R. G. Pence, mother, brother Devon, and sister Pansy. Conwell's advertisement closes the notice.

Methodists Honor Veterans With Special Civil War Service
