Purdue extension to teach Hoosier farmers culling hens
Purdue University extension poultry officials will, with Indiana county agents, conduct a state wide culling demonstration campaign from July 19 through September. Sixty counties will host events with two culling demonstrations led by Purdue staff to help farmers select high laying hens. Observing egg records will guide timing, with culling typically easier in August and September.

Clover Leaf Fireman Fires Neighbor Over Fence Dispute
Frankfort Indiana June 20 Andrew J Henderson 60 a local teamster was shot and killed by Clarence Eskridge 35 a Clover Leaf fireman following a quarrel over a property boundary. Henderson had built a fence on Eskridge's land and Eskridge drew a revolver and fired. Eskridge is known to have previously fired on the local from Frankfort to Van Buren and once served as a fireman for Conductor Doug Manning.
