Abandoned plans for a Van Buren band concert and fireworks on Monday July 5. instead the regular band concert will be held Wednesday night July. The Van Buren Chautauqua closed Saturday night with financial and overall success. Pledge cards were passed after Dr Johnsons lecture and near full subscriptions were likely for next year. Lecturers including Count Sobisizi Dr Johnson Dr Camphor and Mr Andrews were praised, though Mr and Mrs Erwin’s numbers underwhelmed.
