Two Revivals Conclude With Strong Conversions

A Methodist church revival led by Rev. E. Dunbar closed Sunday night with about fifty conversions and eight baptisms, twenty two additions reported. Prof Shannon D Neff directed singing and Rev E O Brown's revival at Dillman Methodist closed with thirty three conversions and plans for Mt Zion services.

Barber Shops 10 Close on Sunday

City Marshal John Hess ordered four Van Buren barber shops to close on Sundays reversing a years long noon closing habit. He warned prosecutions if workers resist and pledged to enforce a two year old curfew law.

Farmers' Trust Directors Meet in Van Buren Indiana

The second annual meeting of Farmers' Trust Company stockholders in Van Buren Indiana was held at 7 p m January 20. Directors J E Riley William Doyle H F Sander man H A Lesier A L Woodard G G Richardson R T Calender C Huff and E E Farr were reelected for a year. Officers J E Riley president William Doyle vice president H H Hamaker secretary treasurer were reappointed for a year. Auditors reported a neat balanced book with totals over one hundred eight thousand dollars. A light supper followed in which Misses Idah Woodard Lydia McMillan and Madonna McMillan assisted.

New Century Club Holds Tuesday Meeting

Mrs 8 G Robinson hosted the New Century Club with ten members answering roll call with quotations from George Eliet. Mrs Clyde Gossett resigned as secretary treasurer and Mrs George Mason was elected to fill the balance of the year. Four guests attended and a two course luncheon was served. Next meeting will be with Mrs J Howard on Thursday afternoon February 10.

Sanitary Barber Shop to Close Sundays in Van Buren

John Wright proprietor of the Sanitary Barber Shop announces the shop will not open on Sundays and asks customers and friends to visit on Saturdays to comply with Sunday work laws. He states his hearty accord with the movement to close Sunday shops.

Mrs Nancy Endsley Dies At 63 In Van Buren

Nancy J Endsley wife of John Endsley resided northwest of Van Buren and died at her home after a long illness. She was 63, a Christian Church member, known as Losure by her maiden name.
