The couple joined the community over a year ago when he became cashier of the Farmers Trust Co. and actively engaged locally. Farmers plan to catch thief in midnight wheat theft case
A young man Fred Willgrube was arrested by Deputy Sheriffs Fowler and Ruggles after a farmer posse cornered him near Landersville. He allegedly confessed to stealing three sacks of wheat and one sack of corn from A. A. Bollhoefer and other farms, with grain value in the hundreds. Willgrube is jailed in Marion, with grain used as evidence.

Interesting Relic: Goose Quill Pen by Camblin Maker
Mr. William Doyle shows an old goose quill pen crafted by George W. Camblin, brother of local educator E. Camblin from the Anderson school era about 60 years ago. Camblin later visited Doyle, who recalls the teacher’s writing tool. the pen remains well preserved and usable. Only Doyle and his sister Mary Ann Leas remember other pupils from that school.
