Attor ney General Herbert S Hadley reiterates he will be present at the Chautauqua, though the exact date remains undetermined with public notices to follow. The Chautauqua planning committee reports progress on program materials and staffing.
Notice calls locals to Thompson Cemetery on a Monday morning to clean the grounds with scythes and rakes. Afterward a sermon and discussion on building a church house for the cemetery area will be held with prominent residents in attendance.
Severe weather brings heavy rain and lightning with property damage across the county. Lightning killed two horses near F R Nelson and at Thornburgh a pasture horse died. a chimney fire damaged the Staples home interior. A tornado demolished smoke and chicken houses near Pearl City, damaging crops and poultry. Unionville floods forced water into homes by the depot while the railroad and bridges suffered washouts. Judge Torrey notes no rain at his place. Mrs. Sarah Carter of Unionville dies at 30 after long county residency. funeral conducted by Rev Doyle.
The communion of the Lord's Supper will be observed at the usual morning worship hours. In the evening the pastor will preach on The Great Mystery of Godliness. All are welcome.
Qualified voters in Putnam County Missouri are notified of a special election to be held Saturday June 4 1907 at the usual voting precincts to decide if spirituous intoxicating liquors including wine and beer shall be sold within the county.
