Two youths from Fairmont Minnesota, Delmar Rooney and Robert Burdick, both 20, are suspected in the November 24 Cincinnati Iowa branch robbery of Iowa Trust and Savings Co. A druggist alarm and a frightened storewoman helped foil the attempted hold up, wounding one suspect as he fled. Authorities tied the pair to a gray Plymouth used in the crime. others connected to the gang were said to be two women in Fort Smith Arkansas.

For a week an icy layer covered the area making travel hazardous both by foot and by car. Sleet and frost formed on trees and wires. by Friday the cold loosened but some damage occurred last Wednesday when sleet broke wires in spots. The warmer spell reduced danger and prevented further harm.

Floren Lewis 19 near Unionville died after a late Saturday incident at the Lewis home when a .410 shotgun was fired during a violent outburst. Coroner Dr J C. Henson and Deputy Loren Renneils concluded the fatal shot entered his forehead ending the spree that included smashing furniture before the final act. Nova Lewis, away at the barn, found his brother slumped inside the house upon return.
