Community Crisis Hotline to Open October 1
The Butler County Youth Service Bureau launches a 24 hour crisis intervention hotline operating from 610 Dayton St starting around October 1. It aims to help parents teens and residents with advice information and referrals. Volunteers will staff evening and weekend shifts and the line will supplement the new Dayton shelter care facility for runaways and youths in temporary placement.

Child Hurt at Fantasy Farm Amusement Park
A one-year-old Cincinnati child was seriously but stably injured Monday at Fantasy Farm on Route 4 north of Hamilton. The boy allegedly was dragged under a kiddie tank car ride and suffered severe lacerations to the face and body before being moved to Children’s Hospital Cincinnati. The park and sheriff’s deputies investigated, with the operator and another witness unsure how the accident occurred.

Butler County to Hold Open Voter Registration Sept 12
The Butler County Board of Elections announces open voter registration on Wednesday Sept 12 at seven locations across the county. Hours at six sites run noon to 8 p.m with Monroe registration 11 30 a.m to 7 30 p.m. The Oct 8 deadline applies for the November ballot. Oxford dates are Sept 26 27 from 1 00 to 5 00 p.m. at the city building and Miami University student center.
