Monroe Thespian troupe 1709 stages Mid summer Night's Dream at Monroe High School with 50 cast and crew, 8 p.m. performances November 14 and 15 plus 2 p.m. Sunday. Elizabethan music from the Brass Choir, period ballads during receptions, arena seating, and a student-directed technical team led by Cris Lyons.

CG&E expands Monroe shrub plan to curb visual pollution

Cincinnati Gas and Electric will plant shrubs around Brittany Heights to hide what residents called visual pollution after a meeting with CG&E officials Monroe councilmen and subdivision residents. Plans start next week as officials outline future CG&E construction in the village. The council also approved a fiscal ordinance to streamline payment of recurring bills and a second reading of the Ohio Transportation Department ordinance granting permission to paint center lines and clear snow on state routes. Lakota Radio Aims to Begin Broadcast by February

Lakota plans to launch a licensed radio station after FCC review last week. Al Lynch, Lakota's director of broadcasting, says engineering was approved and on air by January or February is possible. Meanwhile residents are urged to write Congress about slow educational license processing to Congressman Thos. N. Kindness at 801 High Street Hamilton Ohio. Whitmore briefed council on sewer overflow issues and village projects, promising forthcoming reports.

Rural county sees permit rise in recent month

Butler County building and zoning administrator Anthony P. Cecere reports a rise in rural area permits last month over October 1974. A total of 118 permits valued at 2,080,265 were issued versus 103 permits valued at 4,841,603 in October 1974.

Flag truck drives bicentennial spirit in Butler County

County employee Stan Perin and team painted a dump truck in Stars and Stripes for the 76th anniversary project. Savage Auto Supply funded materials while Tom Thiem Bill Foster and Mike Bohlen led 60 hours of volunteer work. The truck will parade with local groups and operate normally otherwise. Total permits through October reached 1,143 with valuation $23,549,055. Union Township topped last month with 31 permits and $722,417. Other totals follow by township.

Monroe man promoted to Manchester Jeep

Huber C. Newcomb of Monroe has been promoted to vice president and general manager of the Manchester Machine Division by Diamond International Corporation. A 34 year veteran, he started as an apprentice machinist and rose through foreman planning manager field engineering sales posts. He serves on local boards and church committees.

Lakota to Begin Keersaur Middle School Next Spring

Superintendent Herbert Henderson announced the Keersaur School District plans a late spring start for a new middle school in the Dultchland Woods area of Liberty Township. The $5.29 million bond won voter approval 2,648 to 2,505 to fund the project and other facilities with a 900-student capacity set for a September 1977 opening.
