New DES Rule Extends Withholding for Slaughter
Ohio State University Cooperative Extension says livestock feeders using diethylstilbestrol must withhold the growth stimulant for 14 days before slaughter, up from seven. The rule takes effect immediately and requires a certification that stock has not received DES for that 14 day period starting March 17.
