Preacher charged in area rapes and abductions
Willard Eugene Johnson, a 32 year old Hamilton area minister, faces nine counts including three rapes, three kidnappings and three assaults in a string of alleged attacks on teenage girls since January. Police say victims ranged from 15 to 19, with cases in Fairfield Oxford and surrounding Butler County. Investigators identified seven victims and linked the suspect to modeling for him in rural scenes.

Disaster plan approved for Butler County funding
Butler County Civil Defense director Irene Lewis told commissioners a proposed county wide emergency warning plan has been approved for 50 percent federal funding by the Defense Civil Preparedness Agency. The plan includes outdoor sirens for villages townships and cities and alert monitors for schools nursing homes and hospitals, with implementation left to local subdivisions.

Multiple Sclerosis Charity Horse Show slated Saturday
The second annual MS charity horse show is set for Saturday at the Butler County Fairgrounds with 37 classes starting at 10 a.m. Entrants include Tennessee Walking Horses Arabians Saddlebreds Quarter Horses and other Western breeds.
