Second mobile home burns in Liberty park fire
Liberty Township Fire Department responded to a Sunday blaze at Countryside Village 5050 Hamilton Middletown Rd destroying a mobile home owned by Charles Moore 147 Bataboo St. Estimated damage 8000 to structure and 5000 to contents after a clothes dryer caused the fire. Fire units fought the flames about one hour and twenty minutes with aid from the Lourdesville Fire Department.

Lakota levy vote possible for school bond in November
Lakota Local School District may ask property owners to approve a bond issue on the November ballot. At a recent Board of Education meeting Alvin Voorhis of Masofi presented an approximate cost for additional classrooms. A needs study has been underway, with a July 18 deadline to place the measure on the ballot and a July 15 meeting to finalize details. the 1975 budget will be available for public inspection at noon.

Lakota Board accepts resignations and hires new staff
On July 10 the Lakota Board accepted the resignations of Curtis Rogers art teacher at Lakota High and custodians D C Reusher and Robert Richardson. Rogers will become assistant principal in Abilene Texas. New teachers for 1974 75 include Lakota High School staff such as Sarah Blakley Gary FE Goshorn Mary Lou Martin and others. The board also approved repairs at Liberty Union and Lakota schools and granted a 5 percent raise to bus drivers and cafeteria workers. A dress code study group was formed to draft revisions. Fire damaged a mobile home in Liberty Township with $19 500 loss. earlier a similar blaze occurred 19 days before.

Union Township police investigate a $2281 holdup at Gracie Maid Ice Cream Co warehouse on State Route 747. Three armed men, two white and one black, masked with nylon stockings forced employees into the office and stole $2000 in receipts plus $281 from staff. The incident occurred about 11 p.m. as drivers checked out. The company runs 25 to 30 trucks in northern Hamilton County.

Sheriff reports no new leads in 15-year-old death case
Butler County Sheriff Harold J. Carpenter says the investigation into Cynthia Beuerlein of Springdale has yielded no new leads since June 13. A diary found at her home and a ring found along Beckett Road near Rialto were the last notable items. coroner Dr Garret J. Boone says she was sexually assaulted and suffered severe head injuries.

Liberty Township Man Named to Hall of Fame at State Fair
A Liberty Township man will be inducted into the Ohio Agricultural Hall of Fame during State Fair ceremonies. A posthumous award goes to the family of the late John A. Davis, dairyman of Liberty Township, who died Nov. 20, 1967, and spearheaded farm credit, dairy service, artificial breeding, marketing and sales. Davis ran a 240 acre dairy with 35 Holsteins and held leadership roles in the Co-operative Pure Milk Association and multiple regional and national dairy groups. He is survived by his widow Flora and four children.
