Monroe junior Joe Myers led Limited Arts of Middletown to be named the nations top bicentennial product by the National Junior Achievement Organization. The Middletown group, formed by students from Monroe and nearby towns, produces silk screened reproductions of the Middletown Depot, with profits supporting the Middletown Historical Society.

Youth tops tennis world record with 83 hour marathon
Doug Clark a 16 year old Kings Mills High School student set a Guinness world record by playing tennis for 83 hours at Kingsgate Club starting December 20. His partner Rick Baker left after 81 hours and Doug continued with stand ins until he said he would go home at 3 25 am Wednesday. He earned a $10 bet a new racquet and a tennis membership.

Lakota Board of Education held a seven hour session outlining the plan to relocate the new middle school and bus garage. The district will swap 15 acres in Zone 10 for 15 acres in Zone 9 near the Liberty Township firehouse, with an option to buy 22 more acres in Zone 9, pending zoning and highway department approvals.
