Ukiah Lions club begins its annual March of Dimes canvass with 20 teams in the business district. A 9 am siren, parade, and district dispersal mark the kickoff, plus a Saturday dance carnival and the Davis Shoe store horse ride to boost donations. The campaign chairmen are Ster ng Norgard and B G Pearce. Funds support the polio cause amid debts to the county chapter.

County Sales Jump in Mendocino Third Quarter 1984
State quarterly report shows Mendocino County taxable sales for July through September 1984 at 12.918 million, up 7.16 percent from a year earlier. Recreation facilities show steady increase in city program
Mid year report by Recreation Director Joe Juliana to the recreation commission shows an overall rise in city recreation activity. The program logged 88,890 visits with a net cost of 18,035.89 after disbursements of 25,012.71 and revenue of 56,976.82. Compared with July 1 to Dec. 31, 1954, there were 126 more activity days, 78 more games with 2,108 extra players, 11,665 more children and 12,227 more adults participating, and 113,910 more spectators.
