Christmas free meals served by Ukiah restaurant owners
Phil Bogner and Paul McCarty co-owners of Bob's Lunch at 217 East Perkins street served about 260 free turkey dinners to transients and residents with no place to eat. Escapee Knifer to be released to Santa Clara deputies
Albert Garner of Caspar, held in Mendocino county for the knifing of his son-in-law Charles Reilley on the Fort Bragg to Willits road, will be released this week to Santa Clara deputies as an escapee. Garner had escaped from Santa Clara jail in San Jose where he was serving a drunk driving sentence after the early evening incident involving a drinking party returning to Caspar.
