The Harders of Anchor Bay filed a damage suit in superior court for 154 499 65 after their five day old infant died in a truck auto collision on February 26 four miles south of Mendocino. Defendants include Ira Rawson Goodale Jr Tony Uucatti and Speedy Transport Inc. The petition seeks 30000 for the infant death 260 for injuries to Mia Harder and 8449 65 for injuries to the couple and their other child Judy Marte.

Mendocino county's tax collections reached 3 803 143 49 for the 1954 55 fiscal year with taxes delinquent as of April 11. Tax Collector William Crow reports the total surpasses last year by 269 178 84 and the year’s levy stands at 3 433 512 compared with 3 180 075 88 prior year. Delinquency is 130 368 51 about 3 6 percent, with post April 11 payments expected to reduce it.

Two Healdsburg Men Fined for Spotlighting Doe Death
Spotlighters POINT ARENA Ebbert Pea cock and Jose Salazar appeared before Judge Moungovan and were fined 550 dollars each for spotlighting and killing a doe. Arrested at 3 am on Mountain View road near Bob Piper ranch by Warden John Norton who observed the car with its light on. They could not pay and were jailed in Ultiah county jail.

Bad Check Writer Martindale Faces Four Counts

Hearings planned for three youths in Ukiah robbery
Three youths implicated in a hitchhiker robbery near the Ukiah Boonville road face robbery with force charges. Ivan Conley 18 of Oregon and Tommy Butler 18 were arraigned after their Marysville arrest. Harold May 20 remains at large. Stager was beaten and robbed of $70 after riding with them on Highway 20 to the Boonville turnoff. Preliminary hearings set for May 5 and May 6 at 4 p.m.
