UPI report says the U S Court of Appeals urged Nixon and Archibald Cox to settle the Watergate tape issue privately without a constitutional ruling. The proposal, a non binding memorandum, invites a meeting with Nixon or his delegate and Wright to agree which tape portions go to a grand jury. Cox welcomed the plan, the White House studied it, and a reply was sought by next Thursday. If agreed, the courts could avoid ruling on presidential information withholding and privacy. Ervin proposed three committee members listen privately in Newark, Del. to the tapes.

Mobile Blood Bank Visits Ukiah Urgently Needs Donors
The Mobile Blood Bank unit comes to Veterans Memorial Building Ukiah on Sunday September 16 from 9 30 a m to 1 30 p m to replenish depleted Trinity Blood Bank reserves. Frances Dalzell Soroptimist Club spokeswoman says volunteers are urgently needed and that donations help others immediately and can be used personally if needed. Donors may eat a light breakfast before giving and juice coffee and donuts will be provided by the Emblem Club. The Soroptimist Club of Ukiah sponsors the mobile unit with Kiwanis Club assisting with setup and teardown.
